Epistem is launching Genedrive®, a test that supposedly allows for the early detection of TB and antibiotic resistance without need for central laboratory facilities. However, in a study published earlier this year Epistem's Genedrive demonstrated very poor sensitivity for TB compared to Xpert and smear microscopy.
